New Zealand Information Security Manual (NZISM) 11.8.7.C.01: Identification, authentication, audit and gateway filtering for networked MFDs

What does 11.8.7.C.01 require?

Where MFDs attached to computer networks are able to reach another network through a gateway, agencies must ensure that: (1) every MFD applies user identification, authentication and audit functions to all classified information it communicates; (2) those mechanisms are of comparable strength to those required for workstations on that network; and (3) every gateway can identify and filter classified information according to the requirements for exporting data through a gateway.
