Processing data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs or trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data for unique identification, health data and data concerning sex life or sexual orientation is prohibited unless one of ten conditions applies: explicit consent (unless a law excludes it), employment, social security and social protection obligations under a law or collective agreement with safeguards, vital interests where consent is impossible, a political, philosophical, religious or trade union not-for-profit body's members and regular contacts, data manifestly made public, legal claims or courts, substantial public interest under a proportionate law, preventive or occupational medicine and health or social care, public health, or archiving, research or statistics under Article 95. Health-purpose processing must be by or under a professional bound by secrecy.
