Minnesota Rules of the Board of Continuing Legal Education 11A-D: Notice of noncompliance: who receives it, how it is served, what it says and what happens if no hearing is requested

What does 11A-D require?

The Director sends a notice of noncompliance to a lawyer who fails to meet the rules and has not requested and obtained an extension to file the affidavit. It is posted by ordinary mail to the address the Lawyer Registration Office has on record for the lawyer, describes what the noncompliance is, and tells the lawyer of the rights to ask for a hearing inside 30 days from the mailing date, to have counsel, and to call witnesses and put in evidence. Absent a hearing request, the Director's finding becomes final and goes to the Court with a recommendation of involuntary restricted status.
