Chapter III: Rights of data subjects – Mexico LFPDPPP

Mexico LFPDPPP 26: Article 26: right of opposition, including to automated decisions

What does 26 require?

The data subject may at any time, for a legitimate cause, oppose processing or demand it stop where their specific situation requires it to avoid harm even though processing is lawful, or where automated processing without human intervention produces unwanted legal effects or significantly affects their interests, rights or freedoms by evaluating or predicting personal aspects such as professional performance, economic situation, health, sexual preferences, reliability or behaviour. Opposition does not apply where processing is necessary to meet a legal obligation of the controller.
