Part VI: Preservation of data for investigations – Laos Law on Prevention and Combating Cybercrime (2015)

Laos Law on Prevention and Combating Cybercrime (2015) Art.45: Article 45 (second and third paragraphs) Preservation of data under an investigation order

What does Art.45 require?

In an emergency, where there is sufficient information and evidence that cyber crime is being prepared or committed, the head of the police investigation organisation or the public prosecutor issues an ordinance for the protection and storage of computer data and information and computer traffic data. Service providers and sectors with data management duties must then protect and store the specified data in good condition until the final stage of the case procedure, so that it is not lost or damaged.
