Where an integral part of the unit obstructs reach, clear space runs beneath it at least as deep as the reach required; obstructions shallower than 510 mm allow reach up to 1 220 mm, and those from 510 mm to under 635 mm limit it to 1 120 mm. Space under the unit used for access is 760 mm wide or more, with toe clearance below 230 mm (up to 635 mm deep, at least 430 mm, no more than 150 mm past the obstruction) and knee clearance from 230 mm to 685 mm (280 mm to 635 mm deep at 230 mm, 205 mm or more at 685 mm, tapering by up to 25 mm per 150 mm).
