When the organisation works out who has an interest in its ESG decisions and activities, it checks that the people it identifies genuinely stand for the interests at stake. It asks itself: whom could its decisions and activities touch, along the value chain too, bearing in mind that effects may be direct or indirect, real or perceived, past, present or yet to come, and whether that can be measured or described; how it will find every relevant interest and who is likely to raise concerns; whether those raising concerns are speaking for others and whether any interest is being left out, put at a disadvantage or wrongly excluded; who took part the last time similar concerns came up; who could help deal with particular impacts; who could limit the organisation's ability to behave responsibly; and which legal and other obligations apply.
The graph holds this control, the 0 it maps to, and the evidence behind each claim, over MCP and REST.
