In carrying out an assessment the organization should consider, as the situation requires: identifying the reasonably foreseeable impacts of the AI system on everyone affected, individuals, groups and societies (for example on human rights and fundamental freedoms), counting beneficial as well as adverse ones; further questions such as how those impacts turn into risks for the organization and how the organization's various AI-related objectives bear on groups and societies; identifying impacts periodically or as occasions arise, as early as possible and at defined life cycle stages; and estimating how large and how likely the identified impacts are and deciding how the risk management process will respond to them. Input from a range of communities should be sought and built into the assessment, because it brings a variety of perspectives.
