Covers FTP_QKD.1 and FTP_QKD.2. Each module under test is paired with an emulator of the other party (a trusted, known implementation recognized by the evaluation authority) and adapted to output, possibly retrospectively, the encoding or measurement settings, detection results with timing, and sifted data. The session is run repeatedly until n_exe data sets are collected, covering every protocol configuration (or an agreed sample). The evaluator checks that configuration negotiation works, that the encoding or measurement choices occur with the probabilities the protocol requires, that sifting follows the protocol, and that the overlap between the two sides' main sifted strings exceeds the threshold T_overlap. Failure of the configuration, distribution or sifting checks, or overlap below the threshold, fails the TOE; where strong correlation only appears after reconciliation, tests under 6.3 may substitute.
