The TSF establishes symmetric keys following a defined protocol that sends and detects quantum signals, including negotiating protocol configurations and adjusting parameters where needed. Its elements FTP_QKD.1.6 to 1.8 cover parameter adjustment: the PP or ST assigns the events that trigger an adjustment (manual by an administrator or automatic on failures), the module keeps a secure state and refuses to run sessions while an adjustment that cannot run alongside sessions is under way, and it shows the status of the adjustment in a way the PP or ST specifies.
