Clause 5.19: AI stakeholder roles – ISO/IEC 22989:2022

ISO/IEC 22989:2022 5.19: Identify the AI stakeholder roles the organisation and others hold

What does 5.19 require?

The organisation identifies which roles and sub-roles it and its counterparties hold, noting that one entity can hold several. AI provider (platform provider; service or product provider); AI producer, through the AI developer sub-roles of model designer, model implementer, computation verifier and model verifier; AI customer and AI user; AI partner, as system integrator, data provider, AI auditor (assessing conformance to standards, policies or law) or AI evaluator (assessing performance); AI subject, as data subject (whose data trains the system, with security and privacy implications) or other impacted subject such as a consumer or driver; and relevant authorities, as policy makers and regulators. Role assignment underpins accountability and the identification of responsible parties.
