At planned intervals top management shall review the system to make sure it remains suitable, adequate and effective. The review considers where actions from earlier reviews stand; changes in the internal and external issues that bear on the system; information on how the system is performing, including trends in nonconformities and corrective actions, in results of monitoring and measurement, and in audit results; and opportunities for continual improvement. Outputs shall include decisions on opportunities to improve and on any changes the system needs. The decisions to be taken and recorded shall cover evaluating how the organization manages water efficiency; evaluating the policy, the business activity indicators, and the objectives, targets or other parts of the system in line with the commitment to continual improvement; and allocating resources. Documented information shall be retained as evidence of the review's results.
