Human capital area 1 of eleven, a disclosure topic of the metrics and targets area (Table 1). Metrics' focus: how many people help deliver the organization's results and on what kinds of employment. The organization reports this HCA's required metrics of Table 3 and the recommended metrics of Table 4 that are material to it, each with its target, its outcome for the period and a narrative explaining any material gap, differentiated by TML level where material, and qualified by the risks or opportunities the HCA reveals: whether a workforce can be reached and is available; how flexibly operations can scale; and whether workforce planning fits the strategy. The 2025 metric index names its 7 metrics: Total number of employees; Number of full-time employees; Number of part-time employees; Full-time equivalents (FTE); Contingent workforce: independent contractors; Contingent workforce: temporary and agency workers; Total full-time equivalents including the contingent workforce (TFTE); each is a leaf beneath this HCA.
