Clause 8: Operation (sector additions) – ISO 29001:2020

ISO 29001:2020 8.1: Plan operations around the customer's scope, quality plans, change management and contingency plans

What does 8.1 require?

In planning operations the organisation takes the customer's scope into account when determining product and service requirements. Documented information specifying the processes and resources for a particular product, service, project or contract (a quality plan, a service quality plan or an inspection and test plan), that is maintained as the basis of operational control and retained to demonstrate conformance establishes the controls 8.1 requires and is managed under 6.1 and 7.5. Change management processes are applied to the risks to achieving specified requirements and to realising improvement opportunities when planning operations, and where a contingency plan is a risk treatment it includes at least the roles and responsibility for response, communication, and immediate actions; ISO 10005 and Annex C give guidance.
