ISO 26262:2018 - Functional Safety for Road Vehicles 6:7.4: 7.4 Software architectural design

The software architectural design represents the software components, their interfaces and interactions in a hierarchical structure, implements the software safety requirements with ASILs inherited or decomposed and freedom from interference between components of different ASILs (memory, timing, communication), applies the design principles the standard recommends by ASIL (restricted size and complexity, strong cohesion and low coupling, appropriate scheduling, no recursion, restricted use of interrupts), and is verified, with safety-oriented and dependent failure analyses performed on the software design; the AUTOSAR safety overview restates the platform's support for partitioning and freedom from interference. Its aims, per the SGS quotation, are a software architectural design meeting the software safety and other requirements, its verification as suitable for the ASIL, and support for implementation and verification; the audited activities include safety-oriented and dependent failure analyses at the architectural level. Requirement text not held.
