The organization shall keep making the environmental management system more suitable, adequate and effective so that environmental performance gets better. It does this by drawing improvement opportunities out of clause 9 and 10.2 and carrying out the actions needed for the system to deliver what it is meant to. This clause takes over the 2015 edition's 10.1 General and now opens clause 10, following the harmonized structure.
