The originating organization should make sure that measuring, collecting and validating data is effective and efficient, so as to improve its own performance and leave the customer and the other stakeholders more satisfied. Performance can be measured, for example, by: evaluating individual activities and processes; auditing; comparing the resources actually used, with cost and time, against the original estimates; evaluating products or services; evaluating external provider performance; achievement of project objectives; and satisfaction of the customer and the other stakeholders (ISO 9001:2015, clause 9). Managers of the project organization who are responsible for the project should see that documented information on nonconformities, in processes as well as in products and services, and on how they were dispositioned, is analysed to support learning and supply improvement data. Jointly with the customer, the project organization should decide which nonconformities to record and which corrective actions to take.
