Parts 1 to 3: Citation, interpretation, scope, authorities and accessibility requirements – Ireland European Union (Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services) Regulations 2023 (S.I. No. 636 of 2023)

Ireland European Union (Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services) Regulations 2023 (S.I. No. 636 of 2023) R5: Place on the market only products, and provide only services, that meet the Schedule 1 accessibility requirements

What does R5 require?

Subject to the fundamental alteration and disproportionate burden exceptions, an economic operator may only place products on the market or provide services that satisfy the accessibility requirements in Schedule 1: products meet the information, packaging and instructions, user interface and functionality and support requirements (self-service terminals apart from the packaging and instructions part), and services meet the service requirements (urban, suburban and regional transport only the terminal-related part) and the functional performance criteria. A microenterprise providing services is exempt from the service requirements and from the service provider duties.
