ILO Code of Practice on the Protection of Workers' Personal Data (1997) 11.8: 11.8 Deferral of access in security investigations only

In a security investigation the employer may deny access to the worker's data until the investigation closes, and only as far as access would threaten its purposes; no step affecting the employment should be taken until the worker has seen everything held about them.
