The steady-state input measured at rated voltage and at the operating settings the instructions for use indicate stays within the marked rating plus the tolerance the standard allows; compliance is checked by operating the equipment as instructed until the input is stable and comparing the measurement with the markings and technical description, at both limits of any rated voltage range (or the mean where the rating relates to it), with true r.m.s. current measurement, power in volt-amperes by meter or as current times voltage, supplier certification being usable in place of the measurement.
