The external provider's support for incident monitoring is defined clearly in the SLA, which documents an incident classification scheme, reporting obligations and the service levels the provider must meet; incidents originating in the provider's infrastructure that affect the B/D are reported with sufficient detail, and a communication plan with the provider covers reporting and escalation. The B/D is allowed to reach the data sources and information relevant to incident detection, the provider facilitates analysis, backups and copies of logs, access records and other pertinent information can be migrated out of the cloud, and audit trail and logging features are enabled and configured, bearing in mind that public cloud log detail depends on the options chosen.
