Hong Kong Government Practice Guide for Cloud Computing Security (ISPG-SM04 v2.1) 5.10.1: Apply a secure development lifecycle to cloud applications

What does 5.10.1 require?

Applications built on the cloud platform follow a secure software development lifecycle or equivalent methodology, with security design review and software testing: threat modelling during design to find and fix issues early; development best practice and secure coding standards, including code review for security, de-identifying personal data, validating input and encoding output against web application vulnerabilities; and tools for code scanning and analysis, testing and code obfuscation for verification and protection before deployment, recognising that multi-tenant SaaS data separation can be broken by scripting and injection flaws.
