A licensee has an exit strategy that at minimum sets the agreed process and procedures for terminating the provider agreement, including a reasonable timeframe for the provider to delete all the licensee's data; the procedures by which the provider hands services to another provider or returns them to the licensee; and the alternative solutions to adopt for business continuity. Contingency plans and exit strategies are reviewed at least once a year so they stay adequate and effective.
