The requirements of Recommendations 18 to 21 (internal controls, higher-risk countries, suspicious transaction reporting, tipping-off) apply to all DNFBPs, with lawyers, notaries, other independent legal professionals and accountants reporting suspicious transactions when engaged for a client in the financial transactions listed in Recommendation 22(d) and countries strongly encouraged to extend reporting to accountants' other activities including auditing, dealers in precious metals and stones reporting on cash transactions at or above the threshold, and trust and company service providers reporting on the activities listed in Recommendation 22(e); the Interpretive Note preserves legal professional privilege and allows reporting through self-regulatory bodies.
