Chapter VII, conformity of products and CE marking

European Accessibility Act, article register (Directive (EU) 2019/882) art-17: Article 17: General principles of the CE marking of products

What does art-17 require?

Article 17 applies the general principles of the accreditation and market surveillance regulation to this Directive's CE marking. Those principles include that CE marking is the visible expression that a product meets the applicable Union harmonisation legislation, that it is the only marking of that kind, and that member states must ensure the regime is applied correctly. The article adds no separate procedure of its own. It connects the accessibility marking to the same rules that govern CE marking across Union product law, which is why a single mark can serve several acts where the obligations overlap.
