Member States take suitable steps to raise public awareness and to tell persons with disabilities, and the organisations representing them, in accessible ways about the cards and the conditions for obtaining, using and renewing them, alongside the Commission's Union-wide campaign; they also make public authorities and private operators aware that the cards exist and how they are used, and encourage them to offer, voluntarily, preferential treatment or special conditions and parking conditions and facilities in as wide a range of services, activities and facilities as possible.
