The own funds requirement for operational risk is the business indicator component, computed from the three-year average business indicator (interest, leases and dividends, services and financial components, with the adjustments for acquisitions and disposals allowed with permission) and its marginal coefficients. Institutions with a business indicator above EUR 750 million must calculate their annual operational risk loss (a waiver is possible up to EUR 1 billion where unduly burdensome) and keep an up-to-date loss data set of every operational risk event across the consolidation scope (gross losses, insurance and other recoveries, reference dates and grouped losses including misconduct), counting net losses of EUR 20 000 or more (EUR 100 000 for disclosure), with net and gross loss calculation, exclusion of losses only with permission, inclusion of losses from merged or acquired entities, and processes ensuring the comprehensiveness, accuracy and quality of the loss data.
