EU ATEX Directive (Directive 2014/34/EU)
Chapter 1: Scope, definitions, making available and free movement – EU ATEX Directive (Directive 2014/34/EU)

EU ATEX Directive (Directive 2014/34/EU) 3: Place products on the market and into service only when they comply in their intended use, and mark non-compliant exhibits

What does 3 require?

Products may be made available and put into service only if they comply with the Directive when properly installed, maintained and used as intended, and they must meet the Annex II essential health and safety requirements that apply to them in view of their intended use. A product that does not comply may still be shown at a trade fair, exhibition or demonstration if a visible sign states clearly that it does not comply and is not for sale until the manufacturer has brought it into conformity, and adequate safety measures protect people during any demonstration. Member State rules protecting workers who use such products remain possible as long as they do not require the product to be modified.
