EMV 3-D Secure (3DS) - Payment Authentication Protocol V.5: V.5 Trust List (formerly whitelisting)

The Trust List lets the cardholder add the 3DS Requestor to their list of trusted payees. Support is announced per card range: ACS Information Indicator value 04 for the list itself and 09 for its exemption. The requestor may ask for a Trust List prompt if a challenge happens (Challenge Indicator 09) or for the exemption (08). During a native challenge the ACS may show Trust List Information Text (up to 64 characters) whose control starts switched off, so only an action by the cardholder produces Y in the Trust List Data Entry. Trust List Status travels in the AReq (Y or N only), ARes and RReq with the values Y listed, N not listed, E not eligible per the issuer, P awaiting cardholder confirmation, R rejected by the cardholder and U unknown, always with its source (01 3DS Server, 02 DS, 03 ACS). A 3RI request with indicator 10 checks the status; an ACS applying the exemption reports Transaction Challenge Exemption 08.
