Any transmission, dissemination (publishing online, for example) or other disclosure of footage is a separate processing operation needing its own Article 6 legal basis, and transfers outside the EEA also need Chapter V. Passing footage on for a purpose other than the one it was collected for is possible only under Article 6(4); handing a recording to a lawyer to pursue the damage it was installed to resolve is compatible, while publishing it for amusement is not. The recipient must identify its own legal basis.
