EDM Council CDMC - Cloud Data Management Capability Framework
Component 4: Protection and Privacy – EDM Council CDMC - Cloud Data Management Capability Framework

EDM Council CDMC - Cloud Data Management Capability Framework 4.2.1: 4.2.1 A Data Privacy framework is defined

The data privacy framework (policies, standards and procedures covering people, process, data and technology) records the requirements that are particular to cloud for gathering and handling personal data across its whole lifecycle; privacy roles and responsibilities are reviewed and refined for cloud environments; controls and processes governing data use in the cloud tie directly to framework policy; processes periodically check how well the framework and its controls are designed and how well they work; and privacy processes and technology align with collection and processing in the cloud. The framework has an accountable senior owner (often a Chief Privacy Officer, with a privacy committee), enterprise-wide scope backed by discovery and mapping of all personal data touchpoints, a privacy-by-design and risk-based approach with a reviewed risk appetite, communication and training, periodic privacy reporting to senior management, assessment against recognized privacy standards, and a privacy impact assessment process with defined triggers that include cross-border movement.
