STIGs are updated on DISA's quarterly maintenance release schedule (January, April, July and October), each release announced with a STIGs To Be Released list naming every STIG by version and release and every changed requirement by STIG ID or V-ID with a one-line description of the change (a corrected finding statement, a changed value, a new requirement, a severity change, an added not-applicable statement), and a STIG Summary records the quarterly updates, out-of-cycle changes made between releases, new STIGs, new benchmarks, sunset STIGs and other postings and removals. Approved change requests, sent to the STIG support desk and coordinated with the relevant DOD organisations, are made in accordance with that schedule.
