Central Bank of Jordan Cloud Computing Guideline (2018) 2.12: Assess the provider's country before placing data there and bind the provider to disclose compelled access

What does 2.12 require?

Before placing data in the provider's country the company examines that country's regulatory requirements; its political, economic and social conditions; its diplomatic relations, government policies and legal requirements; and events or disasters that may limit the provider's ability to deliver. The company does not engage providers in countries whose laws allow immediate and forcible access to its data and information, and it binds the provider contractually to tell it whenever the law of the data centre's country compels the provider to disclose company data to another party, so the company can act to protect it.
