Module 8: Environmental performance, forests – CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project)

CDP (formerly Carbon Disclosure Project) 8.9: Questions 8.9 to 8.9.4: Forests: deforestation-free and conversion-free status and methods

What does 8.9 require?

The organisation reports, per commodity, whether it has assessed deforestation-free or deforestation- and conversion-free status, the cutoff date, the share of disclosure volume determined DF or DCF in the reporting year and by method: third-party certification schemes providing full DF or DCF assurance (scheme, chain of custody model, share), schemes not providing full assurance combined with other controls, production unit monitoring (method, frequency, share) and sourcing area monitoring demonstrating negligible risk. CDP's ambition is progress to 100 percent of volumes assessed as DCF since the cutoff date, with methodological choices disclosed.
