The organisation states whether a traceability system lets it establish where its sourced volumes come from, the methods and tools used (value chain mapping, chain-of-custody certification, communication with and engagement of suppliers, an internal traceability system, landscape and jurisdictional approaches), and, per commodity, the share of sourced volume traceable to the production unit, to the sourcing area, to the country or area of origin, to another point (such as a processing facility or first importer outside the country of origin) and of unknown origin, adding to 100 percent. CDP's ambition is traceability to a point at which it can be confirmed that production units have remained free of deforestation and conversion since a cutoff date.
