Australian Copyright Act 1968 (Australia), Educational Institution Provisions s28: s 28 Performance and communication in the course of educational instruction

A literary, dramatic or musical work performed in class or to an audience by a teacher giving instruction not given for profit, or by a student receiving it, is deemed not a performance in public if the audience is limited to those taking part in the instruction or directly connected with the place; a parent or guardian is not directly connected merely by being a parent (with a deeming rule in some circumstances), and the rule extends to sound recordings and films.
