Australia RACGP Standards for General Practices (5th edition) QI2.1: Health summaries: every active patient's record holds a record of their known allergies and a current health summary including, where relevant, adverse drug reactions, current medicines, current health problems, relevant past history, immunisations, family history and social history

What does QI2.1 require?

A current health summary is what lets any clinician pick up a patient safely. For each active patient the practice records known allergies, or that there are none known, in the designated field of the record so that the software can alert prescribers. The record also carries an up to date health summary covering, where relevant to the patient, adverse drug reactions, the current medicines list, current health problems and relevant past history, immunisation status, family history and social history, reviewed and updated at consultations. The practice audits summary completeness and works to raise it.
