Core Standard 8 Education and training of non-clinical staff – Australia RACGP Standards for General Practices (5th edition)

Australia RACGP Standards for General Practices (5th edition) C8.1: Education and training of non-clinical staff: non-clinical staff complete training suited to their role and the practice's patient population, and complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training at least every three years

What does C8.1 require?

Reception and administrative staff are the first point of contact and often the first to notice an emergency. The practice ensures non-clinical staff receive training relevant to their duties and to the people the practice serves, such as triage awareness, privacy, infection control, cultural safety, dealing with aggression and the practice's software. Every non-clinical staff member completes CPR training with a recognised provider at least once every three years, and the practice keeps the certificates.
