Australia Policy for the Responsible Use of AI in Government (Version 2.0) 3.2: Implement mandatory responsible AI training for all staff within twelve months

Within twelve months of the policy taking effect each agency must have mandatory training on responsible AI use in place for all staff. Agencies should look at the DTA's staff AI training guidance and may meet the requirement with the AI fundamentals training module, used as issued, modified, folded into an existing program, or accessed by staff directly through APSLearn. Beyond the baseline, agencies should provide additional training matched to roles, for example for people who procure, develop, train or deploy AI systems.
