A plumbing and drainage system must not create undue noise, and must reduce transmission of airborne and impact sound that may cause illness or loss of amenity; the sound insulation of a floor or wall must not be undermined by plumbing or drainage penetrating or passing through it. D1P2 applies to systems in a separating wall of a Class 1 building and in Class 2, 3 or 9c buildings required to be sound rated (Volume One Part F7 sets those requirements). The Northern Territory points to its own Volume One and Volume Two sound provisions.
