Australia Model Work Health and Safety Regulations r699: r 699 Prescribed serious illnesses for incident notification

For s 36 of the Act (serious injury or illness, which triggers the s 38 duty to notify the regulator immediately and keep records), the following are serious illnesses: any infection to which the carrying out of work is a significant contributing factor, including infections reliably attributable to work with micro-organisms, providing treatment or care, contact with human blood or body substances, or handling or contact with animals, hides, skins, wool, hair, carcasses or animal waste; and the occupational zoonoses Q fever, anthrax, leptospirosis, brucellosis, Hendra virus, avian influenza and psittacosis contracted in work involving animals or animal products.
