Australia Model Code of Practice: Managing the Work Environment and Facilities 5b: 5 Coordinate and review emergency plans for shared workplaces and consult on changes

For workplaces shared by several businesses, such as shopping centres, construction sites and multi-tenanted offices, the plan should be coordinated by the person with management or control of the workplace (property manager, principal contractor or landlord) in consultation with all tenants or businesses. When a new business arrives, the existing plan should be reviewed for new emergencies. Workers and health and safety representatives must be consulted when the plan is reviewed or revised. Where consequences are significant because of size, location or hazards, local emergency services should be consulted during development.
