A treatment item (82015 psychology, 82020 speech pathology, 82025 occupational therapy, 82035 audiology, dietetics, exercise physiology, optometry, orthoptics or physiotherapy) applies only where the patient has a treatment and management plan, has been referred for a course consistent with it, and is treated individually and in person for at least 30 minutes. Treatment should follow commonly established interventions of the profession, suit the patient's age and needs, and may be given outside consulting rooms where that is needed to achieve therapeutic outcomes.
