The accounting records a general insurer keeps for the Act and the prudential standards are kept in writing in English, or in a form readily convertible into English writing, and are kept in Australia unless APRA approves, in writing and subject to any conditions, keeping them in another country (s 49Q(1)-(1A)). The insurer tells APRA, using the approved form, which address holds its accounting records within 28 days of first holding a s 12 authorisation, and notifies APRA of any new address within 28 days of moving the records (s 49Q(1B)-(1C)).
