Australia Health Practitioner Regulation National Law 2009 s143: s 143 Education providers notify student impairment that may place the public at substantial risk

An education provider notifies Ahpra if it reasonably believes that a student enrolled in its program, or a student for whom it arranged clinical training, has an impairment that, in clinical training, may place the public at substantial risk of harm. Failure is not an offence, but the Board publishes details of the failure on its website and Ahpra may report it in its annual report. In Queensland the notification goes to the Health Ombudsman.
