Australia Food Standards Code Standard 1.1.1 Structure of the Code and General Provisions 1.1.1-6: s 1.1.1-6 Work out declared average quantities by a permitted method that reflects real variation

Where the Code requires an average quantity of a substance to be declared in labelling (as a percentage or per serving or other amount), the manufacturer or producer calculates it by whichever permitted method best represents the average, allowing for lot-to-lot factors such as seasonal variability: analysis of the food, calculation from the actual or average amounts in the ingredients, or calculation from generally accepted data for that food.
