Electrical work must be done by, or supervised by, a competent person. A competent supervisor must confirm that the work is done by competent persons, installations and equipment meet AS/NZS 3000 and are safe, every electrical incident is investigated and reported, maintenance systems for installations and equipment are in place, monitored and kept current for safety, and documentation of the work is recorded and provided when required. For work on energized equipment, the supervisor must confirm it is done by a competent person with suitable, properly tested and well-maintained tools, test equipment and PPE, and in accordance with a SWMS prepared for the work.
