Anyone at risk of a fall that could injure them must be secured with fall-arrest rated equipment. A person whose fall is arrested must experience an arresting force of no more than 6 kN, wear equipment that spreads the arrest forces over the body to limit injury, be connected to a system that stops them reaching the ground or hitting an obstacle and holds them in a posture suitable for rescue, and have a harness offering a fall-arrest rated anchorage connection on the front (at minimum), which aids rescue and reduces suspension intolerance (other rated attachment points are not excluded).
