AS 1851:2012 Routine Service of Fire Protection Systems and Equipment 14.2-14.4: 14 Emergency planning in facilities: prior arrangements and six-monthly and yearly verification

Section 14 covers checking and testing the AS 3745 emergency plan and its supporting elements for controlled evacuation of buildings, structures and workplaces (other emergency response items are in informative Appendix J). The emergency control organization is told before evacuation systems are tested. Critical emergency evacuation system elements are verified six-monthly: check the ECO list, emergency evacuation equipment and training records against the emergency plan; test the ECO by raising an alarm and comparing how it responds with the written procedures; check evacuation diagrams for relevance; inspect and test the assembly areas; and test the emergency response procedures by an evacuation exercise. Yearly: check the emergency plan is still relevant to the facility and check evacuation exercise records against the plan. Records follow Clause 1.16 and reports Clause 1.17.
