Roof battens are continuous over supports where possible and joined over supports; butt joins between supports are spliced with a matching size and grade fishplate screwed either side of the joint as the clause sets. The 2021 revision added fixings (nails and screws) for 45 mm battens to the fixing table; values not asserted.
